12.15.20 Little Red Pepper

In case you haven’t noticed, our vegetable garden plots are not in the same vibrant, prolific state that they were last spring. I don’t know if the mushroom compost was just too much at once, or if it’s the lack of rain and extended dry heat that we’ve had through winter. Maybe all the above. In any case, my seedlings have had a difficult time making headway. I still have a few holdovers from summer such as this little red pepper. It makes you wonder, what exactly are they doing to those bell peppers you buy in the store? They are 3x the size and astonishingly red. Personally, I think mine is the real thing, antioxidants included.
