01.25.20 Lemongrass from Crop Swap

The next time you feel miserable about the state of the world, just hop on over to Oceanside Crop Swap to witness this elegantly simple event of swapping your yard grown edibles and gardening wisdom with those of your neighbors. You set out your wares, grab a bag and then collect a whole lot of goodness. Today, I brought home lemongrass, mustard greens, kale, collards, nasturtium leaves, broccoli leaves, tangerines, oranges, avocados, passionfruit, macadamia nuts, a mizuña plant, a borage plant, a succulent, and, most importantly, an entirely new outlook based on humble exchanges of goods and genuine human connection.

This was another day for tea. My two stalks of lemongrass were complemented with some fresh ginger. This was about 1/4 cup of chopped lemongrass and 1/2 inch of sliced ginger cooked in boiling water for 7 minutes.
